With RE never expect trouble free ride as you would expect for a 100 or 150 cc bike. Diesel would be recommended only for some commercial used, wherein you have to carry some load for a smaller distance. Diesel is not at all reliable and strongly not recommended for longer distance. Go for petrol one in scarp condition and get it overhauled completely. An excellently build RE cast iron engine delivers a handsome 45+ kmpl. I personally own a RE standard for the last 10 years so be sure about the mileage.

why do you want to buy a bullet?if its for daily use i woudnt recommend it bcoz an enfield is not a bike for someone who do not luv the very feeling of possesing an enfield ,i repeat ENFIELD is a possesion and when you luv someone/something you need to spare time for it.the normal problem any bullet owner (the old ones) faces is regular setting of point for smooth current flow ,the setting of tyipod and at times adjustment of chain.if you think you can spare time for all this go for an r.e. petrol bcoz nothing in this world can give u better HIGH than riding an r.e..every year in the month of july i ride my bullet to himachal from jaipur along with a group of friends ,the normal mileage of a 350 is around 40 to 45kms per litre.My RE is 18 yrs old and the only major replacement is the main stand

DOES THE PULSAR CARBURATOR EASILY FIT IN A BULLET ? AND WHY DOESNT IT GIVE A MILAGE OF 60 KMS IN A PULSAR IN THE ORIGINAL BIKE ?ALTHOUGH I DIDNT HAVE A CHANCE TO USE THE PULSAR FOR LONG BUT FROM WHAT IVE HEARD FROM OTHER PULSAR USERS THAT THEY GENERALLY GET A MILEGE OF 45 TO 50 KMS .

THANKYOU for the information mr jain i agree that nothing is impossible in the automobile world but i beg to differ on one point that after doing those modifications you can never have the feel of R.E.bullet, i think that is more of a JUGAD as they call it and its like the tractor which is converted to a passenger ferrying vehicle in the rural areas of u.p. and rajasthan which they call the MARUTAA.

ONCE AGAIN I DISAGREE TO THIS POINT OF YOURS KI kuch pane ke liye kuch khona padta hai ,THERE TEN OTHER OPTIONS 100CC,125,CC BIKES AVAILABLE WHICH GIVE VERY GOOD AVERAGE THAN THE BULLET WHICH IS MORE OF A PLEASURE RIDING BIKE THAN EVERYDAY MONEY SAVING BIKE, THE THUMP OF A RE IS MUSIC TO EARS ASK ANY R.E LOVER AND THESE MODIFICATIONS ARE JUST RUINING THE BIKE COMPLETELY ,IVE BEEN RIDING AN ENFIELD FOR YEARS AND IMAGINE ROYAL ENFIELD WHICH CANNOT GO BEYOND 85 KMS PER HOUR THAT CAN ONLY BE CALLED A JUGAD NOT ROYAL ENFIELD.

Although ive not commented agaist u MR GAUTAM JAIN but i do not agree that there is nothing wrong in replacing original fitting with other parts ,the jugaad u have talked about may save money but there are number of negatives 1.it spoils the originality .2.its completely illegal as these modifications need endorsement by the concerned R.T.O.3. it steals on govt taxes which is a crime.4. it is done by road side mechanics and not by trained mechanics as done abroad where u need a licence for doing modifications.5.these vehicles may save money but are not reliable and at times a major cause of accidents thus endangering the lives of the driver and other people on road. so u cannot justify these jugads just bcoz they save money.gloryfying these cheap without research modifications shows our CHALT HAI mentality.

i agree that many accidents happen due to mechanical failure like brake fails or fire in vehicles and people loose thier lives ,no amount of compensation can bring back the lives of those loved ones ,there is overloading by public tranport and people drive without licence ,the adminitrative system is slow to react BUT DESPITE ALL THIS WE AS NORMAL CITIZENS OF THE COUNTRY CANNOT GIVE THIS AS AN EXCUSE TO JUSTIFY OUR UNRESEARCHED MODIFICATIONS TO OUR VEHICLE .WE CANNOT SAY THAT SO MANY PEOPLE ARE DYING EVERYDAY DUE TO ACCIDENTS SO WHAT HAPPENS IF ANOTHER FEW DIE OR THEIR LIFE IS ENDANGERED DUE TO OUR ILLEGAL MODIFICATIONS.and Mr jain as you have mentioned that you know R.T.O rules then you must be knowing that in INDIA IGNORANCE OF LAW IS NO EXCUSE that can be given to the courts .this is considered the first rule in our system.

Strange but true. In one question asked regarding the refund of the taxes, Gautham Jain gave a beautiful answer saying that certain things that we do as short cuts are offence. I just do not know whether I have to respect the rules or offend them. I need Gautham Ji's honest opinion in this regard.

Mr gautam jain your support to modifications without resarch is rather surprising since you claim to be a Cartrade expert .the points raised by you that a jugad is not original brand is wrong ,originaly it is a tractor of certain brand meant for field s not for ferrying passenger.Second;if a bus or truck is overloading it is a crime and can be prosecuted by the authorities .Any sensible person owning a good car will ask the service centre to make arrangement or get his vehicle towed to a sevice centre than spoiling it by handing it over to a untrained person.if an accident is caused by a proper vehicle due mechanical failure the insurance companies pay compensatation which is not possible in case of a modified vehicle .Even in india any modifications to a vehicle has to be notified by the concerned departments other wise it is a crime and the vehicle can be fined or impounded by the authorities any time .and instead of teaching others you should first know the sections in the motor vehicle act of india.you are trying to promote illegal modifications and trying to justify it too .You cannot say that the other person commited a crime and did not get caught gives you a right to commit crimes anyday.The registration of any modified vehicle can be cancelled if the modifications are not endorced and tax paid to the concerned R.T.O.

Mr gautamm ,are u really an expert as u claim bcoz any car expert wont call an airbag a baloon.i dont know what kind of language u use where depend bcomes defend and wrote bcomes wrrotte and training bcomes tranig,licence is lience .u may be right that people fit the enfield with other carb but that is like trying to strangulate someone and asking the person to perform at the same time which definetly is going to spoil his performance.
