Mr. SHeikh, that is wrong info, if the radiator is choked then the car would heat up with or without a/c. He is talking of heating only with a/c. the engine can not take the load obviously. The engine needs to be checked and teh electrical system need to be checked. IF engine is weak then it wud heat up instantly.

i do not own a matiz but from what u have stated i assume if u have changed so many parts you must have checked the coolant level also one of the probablities can be the ac fan near the radiator is either not working properly or not rotating in the right direction ie the connection of the fan is reversed and it is throwing heated air from the engine than sucking cooler and fresh air towards the engine .this can be a probability .

I own a Matiz too,,
Get the coolant flow limiter valve removed. Its a spring loaded valve located the engine block. its somewhere below the distributor. (Mechanic charged me Rs200/- to remove it. It can be fixed back later if you feel the car takes longer time to warm-up & reach operating temperature)

Many people get that removed when they face this problem. My friends who own Santro, WagonR & also Indica have got rid of it.

Its there to limit the flow of coolant & improve thermal efficiency. But when the engine becomes weak & also during hot summer, heat generated is high & rate of heat disscipation is low.

Also matiz has a smaller radiator & a single cooling fan.

Firstly its advised to get the radiator, fan, various fuses, thermostat & the coolant checked... As advised earlier by other readers.

Check Radiator & get it cleaned from any Radiator technician,if ne 2-3 tubes are choked the problem described by you can happen.

First I am not so mechanical expert, but I too faced similar problem sometime back, but got fixed as coolant pipe was broken (by a rat) Check with coolant level, and look for coolant leaking all Matiz owners face this unique problem, but not so severe, check with good mechanic any engine overhaul required etc.,

iam from delhi,as u explain that you have problm of overheating on ac turns on,,,one off my knowm person have the sme problm with its matiz,, u know what he did,,he install a extra fan on the radiator,,,now his car has no ovrheting problem,,,if ur from delhi then even i tell you the place where the specilzed dawoo mechanic who rectify ur problem

basically the car had no problem during the winter time and had problem now that the summer came up. Basically all the coolant pipes have been replaced and the radiator was checked and full up with the appropriate fluid for cleaning. The fan is working when then ac is on but how about changing speeds? Maybe is the relay? maybe is the thermostat? maybe is the ac compressor? what i have to check ?

1.as written above do check the flow of collent/water to radiator pipes,
2.do check is the gas kit installed & placed properly is there any leakage of engine oil,
3.after checking all if the problem is still there your head need to be phased.

do the valves /head breezing work done in good garage .i had also same problem but now gone after doing it

I have a matiz too. I faced a similar kind of problem, but my problem was when i used to drive the vehicle it gets heated and i had to stop the vehicle for some time. I even serviced my radiator, but did not work. Then i found out that the radiator fan was not working in proper condition. Some fuse was not working and it created the problem. I just replaced the fuse for 5/-, and the problem was solved.

I have got an 2001 Matiz and its awesome to drive for small distance like below 10kms , if go beyond it get stuck as we feel running on lack of fuel but not exactly .And wen i start the car after giving an interval of some 15mins it runs good for some 5kms and agian prob continues.
Please assist me on this issue

Don't worry my friend, there's no problem with your cooling system... I have matiz like your's too. It' OK...

does anyone have an idea why coolant is leaking into the passenger side of my matiz 2001. Also leaks outside and runs down frame of car. can't see leak from engine but coolant will all empty in about 7 hours. Thanks.

change the coolant , use castrol coolant , the temp will never rise , i too am using matiz
