Cars Q&A

Question
I would like to sell my August 2005 model Scorpio full version. It's run about 80,000 Km. Suggest me better selling price. Also provide guide line for selecting an SUV/MPV @ price range about 20L. It's for my city drive, (Monthly 1500- 2000 KM) daily use. I Consider resale value, safety, fuel consumption. How about Innova New Limited edition. Thank You.

you buy fortuner and in 1 month you`l broke cuz of servicing.. i heard fortuner is very unreliable unlike other toyota. and you`l need goa for a U-turn and whole of punjab to park it.. Why bother.... basically it`s a big car and u`l feel it when you drive it..go for CRV... Innova is good, but i don think u will like it after you have driven scorpio. it doesnot have the feel of scorpio.. they have missed the point.

If you want to consider driving as an enjoyment think about CRV. On the contrary consider driving as a work go for others including Fortuner which is basically a facelift of a model called UTE ( a pickup or a utility vehicle in short form) in some part of the world. If you can wait little more wait for Skoda Yeti. Cheers

Dear Mr. Siva,
I am very much confused. Could you please advice me CRV or Fortuner is the best. What about Skoda Yeti. Also provide resale value for my Scorpio.

Thanks.

Answer by Gelix George 06 June 2010

Please mention your requirements clearly. CRV is very good and owning a Honda City myself I can tell you maintenance is very cheap, though spares cost is high. CRV is petrol vehicle. Though I don't have experience about Toyota, I guess it would also come with above parameters regarding maintenance. But its a diesel. Fortuner has a lot of pending bookings, so delivery will take time. I would suggest you to go for Fortuner for its road presence. I guess it will have better resale and since its a diesel fuel costs will be low. Test drive both and decide for yourself.

For your scorpio I guess you should be able to get around 40%-45% of the purchase price. Try if you can get more.

Hi,
The Scorpioof 2005 can be sold for around 4.5 lac max.

Considering the budget of 20 Lac, competition is among Fortuner,Mitsubishi Outlander, Ford Endeavour. Thecost of Honda CRV ranges at around 25 lac onroad.
Considering overall parameters like refreshing style, performance, price comfort features recommended to test drive New Mitsubishi Outlander.
