1.It depends on your requirements and daily running.
2.It's not fair to compare diesel car with petrol of another make.
The decision depends upon
1.you want refinement ?
2.need value for money?
3.Care about safety standards ?
4.Performance ?
There is no car which satisfies all.

the comparision is absurd both the cars are of different segments it completly depends on how where you are using your car ,if u want status style and performance then definitely the i20 ,but that does make vista inferior, if u want a rugged every day use car then you should go for vista its a value for money car in its price range.

I own Tata Vista Quadrajet and Verna SX CRDI, according to my experance go for Tata Vista Quadrajet its a very good car in milage, rough use, etc. If U compare vista with Maruti Swift VDI, its all the same, Even both the cars having same Engine. Vista is rich in features with low price tag compare to Swift.
