I wish to know something about the air bags. - 8947

I wish to know something about the air bags. At what level and intensity these air bags are activated? Can the same air bags be used after the crash? Or the new ones have to be fitted? If the air bags get activated accidentally, can they be placed back again ?

Answers:

Airbags will never work on minor collisions around 40 to 60 km/hr, it works better on Frontal collision of speed beyond 80Km/hr, once Airbag is deployed then it can be Never used again. You need to change the Airbag after every deployment.

Hi,
Airbags are fitted to protect the passenger specially driver and co driver who tend to hit the steering wheel/dashboard due to moment of inertia.The airbags gets activated only after major impact ie impact transferred to chassis frame and this kind of impact can occure only at 80 100KM perhour and above.It wont get activated at speeds of 40 or 60kmph or at lower speeds. However once the airbag is inflated, it can not be used again.The same needs to be replaced with new one.
