Why my toyota prado 2003 ;gasoline 2.7; mileage /litre is only 3,7miles/litre. Please give advice

Hi,
Tyoyota Prado has 3.0 liter engine and combined with that kerb weight of 2140Kg does result in lesser mileage of the SUV.
