Cars Q&A

Question
Hi Shiva, need your advise. I have booked new Swift VXI last month in MUmbai.& paid full amount to Authorised dealer on 28th march. But still I have not recieved my car. The reason they are giving me is registration hasnt been done becouse of address proof. I have provided all related documents for registration (Notarised Rent Agreement, School leaving Certificate, Postpaid Bill, Original electricity Bill on Landlord name & PAN card). But every day dealer executive say in 2 days registration will be done and car will be delivered. But its already 15 days gone and nothing is happening. Can you guide me what can I do? & get solved my problems.

You should probably tell them you will have to go into a consumer rights forum, if and only if, all the documents you had submitted is what they had advised and said would be enough to get your car registered. You can also pursue them to pay interests for the money you have paid for all these 15 days and also compensate you for the number of times you had called them, the trips to the dealer plus the tension that had created coz of not delivering the vehicle as promised. IT would have upset you first trip planned, lost producitivity at work because of this tension. You can take them to the consumer forum for all this.

Thanks a lot your ur advice. I am getting my car delievered by tomorrow.

Kapil, request the dealer to show you the car prior to registration and inspect it thoroughly ,as the car might have suffered transit damage and the dealer might have been pussy footing to buy time for repairs,
