Cars Q&A

Question
I recently bought a new ford endeavour 4*2...tried it on the highway and mileage was just 7.5kms/litre have not yet given it for service. Is the mileage really this low or it's just because it's not been serviced once. What is the expected mileage on highway and in city. Also how should I get the mileage rechked

Hi,
The mileage expected from Endeavour 482 which is 2.5 liter engine as claimed by company is around 9 to 13KMPL.For new car you can expect atleast around 10KMPL onaverage in highway. Hence there must be problem in fuel consumption which needs to be thoroughly inspected.
Other things which matter in overall fuel consumption include if the car is used most of the time with AC on and also needs be cheked if used mostly in city traffic condition .In both conditions there are chances of reduced mileage by 2KMPL or so.

The mileage on the Endeavour is around 8km/ltr as what I get on my vehicle. The company claims 14km/ltr but that is only a dream come true. On the Highway I get 7.5 km as I travel high speeds of 140km/hr + . There is no such adjustment that can be made though. Any adjustment will only disturb the factory setttings which are done professionally and with precision. But a clean air filter and proper tyre pressure and high speed fuel can be of some advantage.
