Hi,
Yamaha FZ 16 comes with 153 cc engine delivering 14 BHP price is around 75 to 80 K onroad.
Bajaj Pulsar comes with 149 cc engine delivering 14.1 BHP, the price is around 65K for Electric start version. Looks wise FZ16 has aggressive styling than Pulsar and good performanc also but the price is 10K more than that of Pulsar. Pulsar also has proven performance and reliability.
Considering overall parameters, Pulsar makes a better selection.

Both bikes are great. Yamaha, as know has a gr8 pik-up, pulsar is not far behind. But, the spares for yamaha are costlier as compared to pulsar. Also, the resale is much higher for pulsar.

Answer by Ankit Sharma 04 April 2010

If you are looking around for a bike around 150cc and want to please yourself rather than others go for Hero Honda CBZ.
TVS Apache would also be a good one.

Answer by Abhijit 04 April 2010

IF UR PREFERENCE IS STYLE THAN YAMAHA FZ 16 IS A BETTER OPTION HAVING GR8 PICK UP AND TOP SPEED BUT PULSAR WOULD PROVE LITTLE BIT ECONOMICAL NOT ONLY ON PRICE BUT ALSO AS FAR AS AVERAGE IS CONCERNED. IF U WANT BOTH STYLE AND MILEAGE THAN U SHOULD ALSO SEE HONDA TWISTER 110CC OR HONDA STUNNER FI OR BAJAJ PULSAR 135 INSPITE OF PULSAR 150 OR PULSAR 180. I HOPE MY ADVICE MAY BE OF SR8 USE FOR U .

If u r looking for hardcore biking experience & r never going to carry mom to the market,go for the Yamaha. But if u want a crossover between performance n functionality go for the pulsar. Also check whose riding posture is more comfortable for u, an important point neglected by most of the people because bikes n babes are to b taken on long drives...

Answer by Akash 04 April 2010

HI
If u r lukn for a stylish, comfortable and men bike go for the fz16.Pulsar is just outdated and not at all pocket friendly. Its maintanence cost is huge.More complaints r also recorded.Better than the best go for the fz16.

Answer by Rijas 04 April 2010

Its tough for ladies or even a male pillion rider to travel in fz16
If you planning to use without pillion rider, go for fz16, else Pulser is best
performance wise there is not much difference , but mileage is more for pulsar

Answer by Arun Raj 04 April 2010

don't buy 150 pulsar its not good you can go for 180p but as my own experience bajaj is not providing good services and the parts even now my am not able to get the tyres for my bike which are of MRF and any other tyre dose-not fit. Yamaha is also good and depends how much you can spend on the bike might you can go for hero honda both are good Yamaha and hero honda.

Answer by Sukhdeep 04 April 2010

Don't buy Pulsar 150. Instead Go for 135 if budget is an issue. Yamaha is a much better bike and you should go for it if you have money. If 150 CC is something you want and don't have money to buy FZ16, go for Hero Honda Hunk or CBZ (Only styling is different).

Answer by Nilabh 04 April 2010

look pulsar is a name running on the street but if u go for F-Z then it demands little big maintainance rather i have both the bike in my home so if u can spend then no doubt go for f-z it's a gud bike new and muscular look so but due to 20' inch Tyre u cant expect that which u can get from 17' inch although size does matter lol!!!! all the best

Answer by Rocking Prakhar 04 April 2010

My suggestion for u will be to buy FZ......
Its much better.......

Answer by Chandan 04 April 2010

yamaha the right choice..go for it,i'm with my rx135 5 speed since 2000.u can't belive its more than 1.5 lakh KM done, but still not a single screw changed excpet rear tyre.yamaha simply delivers quality..but i m not sure about 4 stroke engines.but its fact fz looks pretty nice bike true international style bike like X-Raptor or BMW type.

Answer by Ukmishra 04 April 2010

after giving a lot of thought and search on internet I finally purchased a pulsar 150...it has a very smooth ride and good engine response...no doubt pulsar 150 provides better mileage compared to yamaha fz....even if yamaha fz performance is a bit better than pulsar 150 but pulsar provides gr8 mileage which cannot be overlooked

why people go for Yamaha fz 16 rather than pulsar 150, which is heavier, low coast, more stronger pulling and economical, if Bajaj is better in all why people buys fz16 of Japan ?

Pulsar is good but not much. Comparing to fz. My option is fz. Yamaha fz bike makes the rider and the seater comfortable because of middle shock absorbs and tyres plays a major role
