All is well, Go for any one ur choice but if you can increase ur budget then better to go with 800-with 5 speed gear.

Expand your budget to 1 lac and buy a used alto (the car is still in production... mind this).

The quality of 800 for your budget would be much better that the quality of Esteem. So, I recommend you to consider only 800.

Also, I would like to advice you to not to consider Astra, Pegout, peugeot, Uno etc though it may tempt you. Stay way from them if you want peace of mind. :-)

Thank you one and all .After thorough research including inspecting physically concluded to postpone plan of buying car as only Maruti 800 of 1996/97 available in range and it will soon turn out to be outdated. So I will increase the budget range to over 1 lac and go for MPFI version cars.

Don't confuse your self,both are maruti's good car, go for Esteem,its a right choice, though its maintenance is little more then 800, it will give you real satisfaction of your investment.

800 is best for city commuting and esteem is for all purpose. Running cost will be same for both car if u will add lpg or cng. Better u go for esteem lx without power steering and power window to minimize maintenance cost.

Never buy a used car. it is always wise to buy small budget new cars than used cars

Thank You Very Much Mr.Siva Bhayya!Your advises are inspired Car users and are very useful particularly for the NEW Users.Earlier you have advised me that TATA Nano is suitable for 200 KM Radius.Occasionally say four five times in year I used to go to my native place at 400-500KM.If I want to go beyond 200 KM distance, shall we go by giving Break.If so How much time break has to be given.As per my Budget I want to take NANO for my family consisting of myself and my wife .I am a Sr.Citizen.Kindly advise me whether to go for Maruthi Alto Used Car or NEW NANO for my use.Kindly advise me since I am new user for the Car.
