Hi,
Considering the Price of E class at around 45 lakh and the luxury, safety features and the brand value of Benz cars, the quoted price seems to be quite good and if the same can be negotiated upto 19 to 20 lac then it would be a better deal.

Check whether the E class 2005 model is diesel or petrol.
The price quoted for 2005 model i.e 25 lakhs is very high.
You can go for brand new 2010 model skoda superb with a little more cost.

Ever since Chrysler bought Daimler stock, Mercedes cars, especially the lower end C class and E class have suffered in quality. Still there is something special about Mercedes cars. However, unlike owning most other cars, there is a massive snob value attached to the price of spares, which is hard to understand. As soon as your Merc reaches a point where it needs more care than the regular service, it is like owning an aeroplane - you cannot ignore or postpone any of the expensive maintenance it requires. Also, with extensive computer controls on BMW and Mercedes cars these days, all diagnostics have to be carried out with proprietary diagnostic tools which only the Mercedes service stations have. I wonder if all this adds up to such a great driving experience leave alone an ownership experience. Compare this to the high end cars from any other manufacturer like Honda, Toyota and even Hyundai, and you get much more value for your money, without the marquee three cornered star.
