Cars Q&A

Question
Sir, Is there any difference in Diesel being provided to customers by Bharat Petroleum(BP),Indian Oil and Hindustan Petroleum( HP)?.Is there any truth in the saying that you should fill fuel from the same outlet, that is either BP, HP or IOC? What's the difference between ordinary diesel and Hi-Speed diesel? Can they be used interchangably without affecting the engine?

Answers:

Dear Venky,
Its all false, all the fossil fuels either Diesel or Petrol are produced by the same refinery that is nearby e.g in Mathura we have IOC refinery so it provides fossil fuel to all the other petrol companies and that is the govt. strategy that we donot have any domestic private players.

There is an additive being used in Hi-speed diesel which is actually a detergent based and used to clean the injectors while being used. The OEM of the additive is System-D for diesel and System-G for petrol.

Hi,
Hispeed diesel is made with adding additives to the diesel. It will boost performance of engine. Using normal and hispeed alternatively or even using both wont affect engine .Same is true for different suppliers also.
