You can look at TATA Manza too. Its a new car with lot of features. It would be around 1.5 to 2 lakhs lesser than Linea. Both are managed by TATA Service, so if one is better the other should be the same and vice versa. Linea is underpowered because of its weight even though both have the same engine. I have exactly same requirements as you and I have booked a Manza (petrol), since I do not travel beyond 400 kms a month.

well my friend...if looking 4 service verna and ikon r better...if can stretch budget go blindly 4 verna...else ikon is good n has superb diesel mileage(23 on highway)....4get linea...worst in class service n mileage..

i used to own a Santro myself and wanted to bump up to asedan 18 months ago.
I went in for the Suzuki Dzire - Petrol. It is great value for money. You may want to consider it as one of the choices.

Drawbacks:
1. The car seems to be a little under-powered after driving a santro which has great response time. Having said that, the power in the Dzire shows beyond the speed of 60 kmph.

2. the mileage is not great. in peak city traffic, it gives about 8 kmpl as compared to 7.5 kmpl of my santro.

However, i hear the k-series engine is going to be put in the Dzire too, thus expect better pick-up and mileage.

Hi, I recommend the Linea.I have a Linea Dynamic black 1.4 lit petrol.I love the car,the best looking car in market today and has amazing ride.It is not under powered for city driving in fact its better that Ford Fiesta which is fun to drive only on highways and a pain in City.Linea is very easy to handle in traffic and avg mileage is 10.5 which is great for a car of this size.Manza is a odd looking car...buy it only if your are tight on budget.The back and front has no connection.Low on image ( will always be seen as a cheap sedan)

First you should say in which city or state you will using the car, as because of the main option is after sale, because certain city or State can't provide good after sale and in case of certain break-down, U will be suffering to avail spare parts & expert machanic, so make it sure that good after sale is provided, which ever car U will be purchasing.
