I am planning to buy a used bike in Mumbai. I dont know all the R.T.O procedures? how many days does it take for tranfer of ownership afer submitting all forms? how does one find out about the legitimacy of the owner and most importantly how do we find out if he has any outstanding loan on the bike? and also what are the R.T.O fees for the transfer of ownership?DO we have to mention the arranged price?

Hi,
With proper documentation, it wont take more than 15 days for change of ownership fee would be around 500 Rs . Please check in the original RC book for any hypothication. If Hypothication is there and loan is cleared then there should be cancellation seal from RTO then you canconclude genuinity of documentation.
