Hi experts, I am planning to change the Clutch assembly of my Hyundai Sonata Gold ( 2002 Model)as the clutch is hard & there is no much play too, i consulted some of the expert mechanics but they are telling that entire clutch assembly has worn out as while running, little clutch pressing also leads to heavy raise in Engine RPM. SO i started collecting quotes from diffent mechanics, while surfing i got a person who is stating that he will provide me the full clutch assembly ( Clutch plate, pressure plate, Clutch assembly cover & Bearing) for 5200/-. He is also stating that this is the original imported spare from Koria of make Valleo & in all Hyundai Cars same clutch is being used. Can some one help me how to identify if the clutch set he is providing is original or duplicate as i heard most of the Korian spares exported are duplicate. Regards, Swapnil Natu.

It is impossible to get the above mentioned parts in original at the price mentioned by your mechanic,To put it into perspective I got these parts changed in my Palio at an auth.workshop and it cost me about 10,000 rupees and my car is running well,So I suggest the safest option for you would be an auth.Hyundai workshop if you want peace of mind.

Those who can afford to keep a Sonata shall not go behind duplicate spare parts or other cheaper alternatives. Get it done by Hyundai authorised service centre.

Swapnil,,
I got my Sonata Serviced recently from the showroom and i spent close to 10k only on clutch with a guaranty of 10,000 Kms. Even u get the clutch done from outside,which i dont think is a harm,,see if u can guaranty for d same atleast for 10,0000 Kms. Note;Cltuch goes for a toss if its pressed whyl driven. My old driver did that mistake and i had to get it changed. Hope this info helps u.

I got the clutch done from a friend who works in the Company's Service center, it cost me less than 4000/- and the clutch works like a charm ... I drive it regularly and not problem as of now..

u must change ur car's clutch assembly as early as possible to improve the performance of the car as well as the mileage

HI Mr Anan,

As concerned to Pick up, it's very good also the milage is between 6.5 to 7.5 with AC. The problem is chattering of the clutch & also the hard paddle.

Trident people are also not giving any clear picture about the problem.
