swift is the best car in this segment...

Both Swift & Vista have the same fiat engine with minor changes in the tuning.
Boot space of vista is more than Swift.
Swift has better acceleration than vista.
Vista is more value for money
Choice is yours - both good vehicles

If you want passenger comform for long drives forget swift and go for Vista as it's more spacious and comfortable. As per perception, maintenance cost of Swift is less than Vista. Regarding fuel efficiency, both of them are relatively same with + or - 1kmpl.

For the parameters mentioned by you, the car which is best is
1. PWR steering - Swift(Electronic PS while Vista has Hydraulic)
2. A/C - Both are equally good.
3. Good leg room - Vista (Miles ahead as swift has cramped rear leg space)
4. Decent boot - Both are nearly same
5. Performance wise good mileage - Swift(Vista has same engine through)
6. Powerful - Swift may be.

Don't go by herd mentality and buy swift. Test drive and decide for yourself.

I would definetely suggest FIAT PUNTO 1.3 Active as the best option for you. The reasons are,
1. It has the same engine which is in vista or swift or ritz
2. Addition to your requirements, it has solid body & high quality paint finish.
3. The service intervel is 15000km against 5000km in swift or vista, which itself is a proof for the confidence on performance.
4. The rear seat (particularly the back rest angle) is the best out of three.
Have a test drive and take ur decision.

The both car or the same engine. But swift is the best than vista in all performance. You can trust the Maruthi's net work and maintenance.

There is another option from Fiat - Punto. You can decide the performance after 50000 Km running.

Hi! I own a punto. Its got the best suspension feels like floating. But if comfort means space for u for then no other thought go straight for vista. Vistas suspension is also good but not comparable to punto. Check out and compare the new swift on these aspects - suspension and space. The old swift is nowhere to the comforts of vista and punto.
Gear shifts in vista is hard but not complainable. Even the old swift gears are not as smooth as the punto.

Mileage of all 3 is all the same depending on how u drive.
price and resale, space conscious -vista
refinement and drive pleasure with comfort for 4-punto
Drive pleasure -swift but lacks a bit of refinement on the old. Not sure about new.

Forget about network, now there are many multi brand services and tatas will be found here n there.
spare availability will not hinder much as all 3 share same engine and punto is going up on sales and fiat is veryl serious this time.
