Cars Q&A

Question
Sorry Dhruva, its not your interruption. All you friends' advice is valuable to me and you are welcome to advice. Taking a practical point of view I have zeroed to Maruti, considering after sales service and vast service network as I have to often drive to rural areas like my native place. And no doubt Beat is a good car, in fact the most happening in its class, but the price is only introductory and will be increased. And no predictions when GM's gonna be bankrupt again. The i10 is a superb car but the d lite doesnt have power steering although it costs around 3.33 lacs(ex-showroom) . The Era is highly overpriced. So now please can you suggest? Thanks.

Shreyan,

You have zeroed in on the right choice. To tell you frankly i have test driven all three vehicles (Owner of a swift & a Palio). If you are below 6 feet then go for the A-Star, Otherwise go in for an estilo. I felt the A-Star to be cramped (I am 6.2) there is a very small boot.
But if people are advising on a Beat it is nothing more than a A-Star, yes it has a engine to boast. I can anyday bet on a Maruti for its pricing & service.

Yes Hyundai is the next choice but the Price is the only drawback.

Good choice. The i10 is certainly overpriced.

yes i do agree with that.if you are more then 6 ft tall then cars like alto,a-star,beat might be small for you..then too i feel a santro zing or a wagon-R would be better bets than estilo.zen has been a superb car,one on my personal favourites.but only till the original zen.im not too fond of the later versions i.e zen classic, estilo.so my thinking would be that if you are tall then you should go for wagon-R or santro.keep in mind that these cars wont be as stable as A-star or any other small cars at high speeds and turns for the simple reason, their centre of gravity being high.Thank you.
