  • Hi - go for a diesel vehicle if your running is more than 50kms per day. In Diesel, you have many options withing the budget of 5-6 lacs, swift, dezire, vista,Indigo CS & Indigo Manza,Ritz.
Hatchback - Go for Vista.Swift & Dezire both use the same engine as in Vista, but vista you get value for money
Sedan - Go for Manza - extremely good value for money with ac,power steering, music system, power windows, etc for the basic model
    Happy driving!!

  • I earlier owned a tata indica turbo diesel. Now own a vista multijet diesel(34k kms). I also own a 7 yr old hyundai accent and a brand new chevy optra 2.0 diesel.

I would suggest you a hyundai accent-petrol or a hyundai i10/chevy beat. I am suggesting you a petrol car as your running is not more than 1000 kms a month.

If you draw a cost comparision, A petrol car always works out much cheaper and is better value if you are doing 500-800 kms a month.

Suggested hyundai accent because i feel its a fantastic car and great value for money with absolutely no niggles, the car is near perfect. It is a sedan with great handling, power, comfort and economy. hyundai design quality, parts, after sales, is much better than tata.

suggested i10 if you want to go for a smaller car. with all the hyundai advantages.

suggested beat, because I feel GM is the most underrated car maker in india, though they really make good cars. Beat is fresh, great features, and good value for money. Only drawback i feel with GM india is low re-sale value(mindset in ppl's minds) and very bad after sales in some parts of the country. Pls check that in your city before you decide on a GM car.

All the best! hope my post helps..
