i am having maruthi ALTO back home can i change this to gas?? what all i have to do for that?? after conversion is it be covered under insurance?? best regards ajit

Hi,
LPG kit can be fitted to Alto.It wont affect Insurance. However the main points to consider are the investment cost of around 17 to 20 k , the cost per KM and effect on maintenance cost. Considering overall factors and mileage of Alto it wont be useful in investing if planing to use the same for long term.

Fitting LPG kit Alto car have no insurance problems U can insure vehicle.Regarding economy it is adviceble to go for LPG.but minimum running 2000 km pe month Because it is expensive i.e u have to invest around 20 k for LPG kit and RTA approoval.If u go for LPG I advice u take Lovato LPG Kit Oroiginal (Vaporiser Solonoids LPG tank Copper pipes all from original Kit) Made in Italy

I will suggest you to stay away from LPG Kit, Maruti Alto is one of the best milege car. I am getting ery good milage with petrol. gas fitting requires 25 000 investment & increases the maintenance cost. However petrol car is having very Less Maintenance.

Dont bother. For the Alto it is not worth the effort unless you are clocking over 30000 km per year.

Yes, I totally agree with Dr Neel and Mr Faisal- Alto is giving an excellent average and unneccessary changes may cause wear and tear of piston and shorten engine life. Not to mention the unpleasant smells while driving !!!
