Cars Q&A

I am interested in TATA VENTURE.But since Maruti Suzuki is releasing Eeco, i would like to ask you to help me to choose between them. Which vehicle has got better finishes and stability and driving comfort?

  • You can please not buy a Tata vehicle in its first Avatar. TATA engineers release some "dabba" and then fix problems for the next three editions of all their vehicles. The Indica is already underpowered and wheezy. Imagine that same engine in the Venture, which is much bigger and heavier and meant to carry a bigger load. It is going to be sluggish. The Eeco is also old fashioned, but you can usually trust Maruti to get atleast the powerplant right and fairly decent build quality.

  • Expert Hi,
Both are not yet available in showroom . New Eeco will be a good alternative for omni and Versa. If you want power, spacious interiors and long term utility you can test drive new Sumo Grande MKII.

  • Tata Venture MPV that is bigger than the Tata Ace and smaller than the Aria. The Tata Venture's interior is spacious enough to accommodate up to 8 passengers
Venture is powered by a turbo diesel engine that provides 71 PS power output. The MPV is expected to be launched sometime later in 2010 at a price between Rs 4-5 lakh.

Other features u may get is power steering, power windows, reverse parking aid, keyless entry with engine immobiliser, rear wipers, side impact beams, and collapsible steering.

for the 7-seater variant. Maruti Eeco is powered by a 1196cc petrol engine with five speed manual transmission gearbox that produces maximum power of 73 Bhp Eeco offers mileage of 15.1kmpl. but tata v may offer 20 on diesel
