Cars Q&A
we define the power generated by a engine w.r.t its R.P.M
for example TOYOTA CAMRY gives 140ps @6000. Does it mean max. power generated than other r.p.m's of engine?
If any other car engine gives 140ps@7000 den which engine is more powerful? and why?
plz make me clear about dis concept in detail.

Hi,
The power generated by a engine is given by formula
B.P= 2*3.14*N*T/ 60000 KW. As its clear from formula the engine has to be more efficient to produce the same power with increased torque at lower RPM. Hence Engine generating 140 PS @6000 RPM is more powerful and efficient.
