Uno is no doubt a good car. It can be purchased in the range of 45k to 65 k ,depending on the condition of car.

UNO diesel is definitely a very good car. Even today, I would rate a new UNO diesel much higher than maruti alto, 800, zen, Santro etc. However, if you are buying a second hand
UNO you have to check its condition, spares availability, service centres etc. The biggest draw back with UNO was after sales service as Fiat do not have adequate network of service centers.

Fiat Uno is a strong and lasting car, but you need to go to Fiat Italy to procure the spares or else if the Fiat CMD is your close friend. Uno shoul cost max Rs. 60k if its in showroom condition. If its in utter good condition it can last for 3-4 years. Better go for Palio at 70000, its far better, close to Punto.

If the intial problems in the car is sorted out then its a good car. Old cars will have problems with wiring and auto electricals which needs to be looked into (all wirings, starter motors, all relays, alternators, radiator fans etc. The engine is rock solid and would probably not give any problem.

Overall it should be mixed feeling when buying a used UNO due to availability of spares & mechanics who would want to repair this car. If its available for around Rs.40K then go for it and be ready to spend another 40K to bring it to operational conditon due to lots of electrical contact issues.

Owning Fiat Uno is a great pleasure since it is a rocksolid car and availability of spares are the only problem Iam facing.Definitely its a good car in the price range of 70000/- for older ones.Trouble free and gives comfortable mileage.

Instead go for a Maruti 800 as it has low maintainance cost
