Better to go for Maruti 800. It is best car for first user , no tension for service . Maintenance cost of the car is very cheap.

each car has it's own plus and negative points . So for what you are looking for ? if you want fuel economy ,it's nano. if you want service and spares it's maruti. If you want comfort it's nano. trying to say be specific at question.

Its undoubtably Maruti 800. I have seen Nano on road . It looks like Scarp load.

800 is anytime is better.

Don't confuse straight away go with M 800. It is proven in performance.

I have seen these kind of questions in lot of forums.
What i will say is you cannot compare these two.
Tata Nano is a city car which has a rear mounted(which is a new in India) engine.
Maruti 800 has proven all around the highway and city and has more power and cubic capacity than a nano.
Tata Nano is 624 cc, 2 cylinder, MPFI,35BHP
Maruti 800 is 796cc,3 cylinder,MPFI with 37BHP

Now to decision making:
If you want peace of mind,reliability,resale value Go for MAruti 800.
If you are ready to embrace new things you can go for Nano.

If i was in your shoes i will go for Maruti 800 and not even think of Nano.But if i am looking for a specific city drive car for two people then i will go for Nano.

I personally have not test driven nano so the driving dynamics of the car is just word of mouth or the test drives of auto mags.
I my view if you are going to commute in the city in particular then nano is best car for its price but if your need and use generally involves serious long highway drives then go for M 800 as it is the most reputed workhorse in the indian automobile industry for its price.

In looks nano is way ahead of the M 800 as there is a generation gap in both the cars in design front.

Don not hesitate to buy nano due to recent media coverage regarding its technical glitches as this is not new thing for a newly launched car.

Never even think about Nano, its too inferior in quality when compared with Maruti....

no idea about the tata nano bcoz i personelly not deiven but as per the market trends maruthi is the best

I had sold Maruti 800 before one year and purchased new Alto.I recommend for Maruti 800 as regards comfort,service,long journey,spare parts etc,.

if u would like to use personally for your own purpose go for m800 is better i had a m800 i sold that before 6 month and i purchased a alto, if you are going second hand buy alto is better unfortunatly i dont know more about nano but its sound is like auto riksha.

none of the both as NANO is a waste car.... just a crap craze.. in my opinion a motorbike is better dan a nano.

about maruti 800.. d best car of first time driver but only for learning purposes as MARUTI SUZUKI is soon going to pull out production of maruti 800 coz it doesnt adhere to BSiv norms. so if u purchase 1 now it wud b a prob for u to resell it..

i wud suggest to go for santro instead of both of above.

Maruthi 800 is THE BEST car amongst the both. I don't suggest nano at all.

I ahve been using Maruthi- 800, So taht i ahve Felt that 800 Is Very Good Car for City Round as well Hilly Areas.

In contradiction to the comments above, I feel the Nano is the better option.
Speed: - Almost no difference, both barely touch 100kph
Build Quality: - Much better for the Nano
Spares: - Cheaper for the Nano, Tata service points are also easy to find
Saftey: - Nano is far superior
Interior space: - Nano is again far superior

My suggestion: - If you have to buy one of these 2 buy the Nano, but if you are going to take even the occasional drive to places close by like lonavala even suggest you buy something else (Chavy Spark if a fantastic alternative)

Of course MARUTI800. It is a proven brand and one of the most reliable too

I am using 800 - 5 speed. A good one. Can't compare with Nano. The only disavantage of M800, is with AC on pickup affects drastically. This may be becaue of CC capacity. Yet to know the actual performance of NANO. So can't comment today. But before purchasing M800, get it confirm from company about its disconituation. I came to know that Maruti is planning to discontinue its 800 moedl from market oin phase manner.

nano is best in class. interior is good. leg space is very good. alto 800 leg space is very poor. driwing is very comfortable.

Dono car test drive karo....fir batao...100% sure..its NANO...khud samajh mai a jayega ki something is new ..something is unique......

M800 is better than nano more power can be driven by lpg

Yes go for nano its a perfect choice. I already using since 2years.its a highly spacious very good mileage and very strong body for our safety. Its a tata product so its a saties.

I am owner of nano. I think nano is better than maruti800 because for its good interior space,mileage and cheap price but maruti800 is an old modeled car.

maruti 5 speed is exellent car 100 times is better than a tata nana it is really like auto

dear masshad edibam, maruti800 can easily touch 120+ in a long highway. i stretched it upto 130+. so nano is nowhere to it regardless the same power(37bhp).

I have been using maruti 800 for the last 15 years.Today I have test drive TATA NANO.You can not judge by driving one kilometer test drive.Rear bumper looks very bad even three wheeler looks better.Tata Nano manufacturer should see to it.Redesign rear bumper,remooving mesh ZALI.Price is also high when you recollect declaration of Ratan Tata "EK LAKHTAKIA CAR" at the time of its launch.fulfill these two and you will see like me so many will comeforward to purchase this magic car.

please don't compare maruti 800 with nano.. nano is a auto rikshaw, it has auto rikshaw engine, maruti 800 is a star, go for it... for long drive it is excellent car, maruti 800 small car takes you far.. bt nano.. hahaha it doesn't have tht much brave to go on highway.. plz don't compare.. i can say NANO is worst car... go for MARUTI 800, good maintanance, low expensive for all spare parts, everywhere u can get..

nano is not a car. m800 is really fun to ride with friends for picnic or a one day trip. if you load 5 people in a nano, you dont have the space to load the baggages of your friend,and then after i think a nano couldn't drag its acceleration to 80+ with five people onboard. But a m800 can easily speed-up to 90+ with 5 peoples onboard. thats the difference!!! so for a little entertainment, go for m800 and if you like to taste different thing for a while, go for nano.

I have never used Nano but I cannot believe that it is better than Suzuki 800. Remember Suzuki 800 is the first modern and Japan made car in India, whereas the idea of Nano came from the substitution of the motor bike. GO FOR SUZUKI 800. If you want to have a car instead of a covered modern Auto rickshaw.

Nano is better. Good interior space and ofcourse built quality is better than 800. Nano is my choice
