I had done the same thing 2years back, Mumbai santro got registered in bangalore. If you want to cut cost you need not change the registration, which bring down the value. You can manage with owner transfer and life time road tax for kerala paid. In karnataka the expense came to around 15K + 2K for registration change. Moreover for a Good 2003 model anything less than 2lakh will be a good price for the AT version.

If the car condition is good, you can go upto 1.5 L or otherwise 1.2 lakhs only. If you are bring the car to kerala means you have get the NOC from the car owner. If you know the formalities to change the reg of the car you can go head with your area RTO other wise you can ask any of the driving school person for this formalaties, they will charge and do the process.

The cost of the car should be more than 1.5 lakhs; it can also depend on the mileage the car has done and what the condition is of the tyres and battery, which are components which can be costly, if they need to be replaced. These and other matters in repect of the general condition should be looked into, before settling the price. Negotiate from a bse level of 1.5 lakhs and scale down for other problems as they appear, depending upon how much it will cost you.Settle then for a suitable figure.

For change in registration, you will have to incur extra cost, which should be checked from the RTO, where you stay. If you want to involve a broker, you can do so, provided he does take you for a ride.

Dear Sir,

It is better to buy a car from Kerala, In Kerala 2003 Santro cost within 1.60, you can save the RTO charges extra re registered vehicles demand is less in kerala.
