Hi,
In the range mentioned and utility, Maruti Suzuki Alto would be the best selection

Hi,
Yes Alto would fit your budget right. But if you intend to slightly increase your budget you can have a good option of having a i10, which is a good car to own. You would get a base version of it so you would have to bare missing features.

Hello,

I would agree with Shiva and Rajshekhar. Alto is definitely value for money. On-road price is around 3 lacs (or a bit more for the fully-loaded variant). I would suggest that try the new Alto with the KB10 series engine (supposed to give a better mileage). With my Alto, I've got a mileage of around 20-22km/litre on the highway. :)
Hope this helps.

I would definitely recommed Alto.Good on mileage, effective AC and good look. Best suited for LPG but if you drive long distances avoid alterations as it does reduce reliability due to extra pipes/nipples etc.

I HAVE A FEELING THAT FOR A SMALL FAMILY OF 4 DEFINITELY ALTO IS THE BEST OPTION BECAUSE 1)HAS ENOUGH SPACE FOR 4 ADULTS AND ANE CHILD.
2) HAS ENOUGH POWER FOR EITHER CITY OR HIGHWAY DRIVE. I HAVE DRIVEN ONCE MYSORE TO PUNE IN 14 HRS ( SINGLE DAY).
3)GIVES BEST MILEAGE ON INDIAN ROAD. I ALWAYS GET AROUND 20 KMPL.
4)BEST AC IN CLASS.
5)BEST DRIVING POSITION< AS I WAS HAVING ENOUGH ENERGY LEFT AFTER REACHING PUNE AT 9:30 PM TO PLAY WITH MY BROTHERS CHILDREN.
6)LEAST AND CHEAPEST MAINTENANCE. A DOG HIT MY CAR AND SURVIVED BUT MY FRONT BUMPER GOT TWO CRACKS, THE COST OF REPLACEMENT IS Rs 800 ONLY.
7)PERSONALY I HAVE A FEELING THAT EITHER ALTO OR A SEDAN, NOTHING IN BETWEEN.

U hv so many good suggstions and I endorse it on Alto. Go for it. A maintenance free car with an assured mileage of 18 to 20 kms per litre.
