The Ikon is one of the worst cars on the road today. This particular car you have looked at may be in good condition, and you may have a good feeling driving it, but in terms of mileage, you will get anywhere between 8-12 with the a/c on. On the highway, with a steady speed between 70-80km/hr, you can expect 12-14 at best. Be prepared for plenty of repairs. I have a friend who has an Ikon, a Honda City and a Baleno, and his least preferred car is the Ikon. He doesn't even want to sell it because it makes him look bad. Asking price for the same year as you mention is about 75,000. Your 800 is a much better machine. The Ikon has lousy resale value too.

Dear BS Kumar Ikon is a proven car and it awas a hot selling few years back.Ford engines are one of the best engines in the world.It may bit costlier maintanence compares to Maruthi.I think its good deal if it is from a genuine person.Average resale value in South is around 1-1.5L.

Dear I have been using Ikon for more than 4 years. I kept both 1.3 and 1.6 versions. The average of 1.3 in city is 13 without AC and 10 on AC while on highway its 12 with AC and 16 without AC. While 1.6 gives 10-11 without AC in city and 8 on AC. On highway without AC 12-14 and with AC 10-12.

But 1300CC is better car than 1600CC in average and maintenance, but if you really want the taste of high speed and pickup then go for 1600cc.

2001 model should not be more than 80-90 thousand only if the car is in good condition. For 1.15 lakh I can get you 2004 model Ikon.

If u want to make ur life miseraable ............go ahead with ikon..Very high maintainance..
