I own the launching version of Hundai i10 (1.1cc). The mileage i get is very low. is it my driving problem or the vehicle's?

  • Hi,

If u r suspecting that ur vehicle is giving low milage on ur driving, then i request u to please get in touch with Authorized dealer of Hyundai, ask head mechanic to sit in car & u drive the car at all possibilities of the trafic, high speed & let him observe. He will be the right person to understand the synchronisation between u & ur car...

Further let him ride ur car & suggest u if required.

  • Expert Hi,
You have't mentioned app mileage you are getting. If you are getting mileage anything abouve 13 KMPL then it should be good otherwise first get the mileage test done in dealeship network and further inspection is to be done.

  • Shankar and Natu,
I get around 14km/l on average for my i10, which I thought was low. As adviced I shall go to the Hundai dealer to get it rechecked.

  • No matter what the reason, if you are using your air conditioner and driving in normal to average traffic conditions in any city or around, you will rarely see your mileage get better than 15kmpl. If you are a hypermiling driver, and know how to get the best out of your car, then you can get around 22 kmpl. Do a google search for "hypermiling" and you will understand.

  • maintain around 1500-2000 RPM. in highest possible gear . You should get 15-16 kpl in city and 20+ on highway.
A new hyundai will not give less miledge unless there is a fuel leakage.
