avergae mileage - 15 Kms in city & 17 kms on highway
very less maintainance - 1000/- per every 7500 kms

As I own santro, feel it's a good car. Good engine, robust body, Good comfort, Getting mileage of 15.5 KMPL in City (may be my driving habits are too good). Although cost of spares is generally high for Hyandui vehicles. Overall it is a good vehicle.

both are good successful cars from reputed manufacturers.

Wagon R is a bit congested and cramped compared to Santro. Service network of Maruti excellent. The LPG Version will compromise on Boot Space.

Santro has fixed head rests compared to Wagon R's Removable ones. Santro is roomier at the rear.

Test Drive both cars with your Family and decide. Both are equally good.

If given a say, i would suggest to go in for a Santro. It is more comfortable than Wagon R

Though both are equally good, Santro is spacious and robust and needs only routine service in normal running conditions. It didnt give much maintenance problems for five years. Yes that depends ob your handling also. You can go for it.
