The second hand skoda 2003 and that too Ambientte should not cost you more than INR 3.5 Lacs. Also, if you are buying second hand Skoda check its full service records and check for its back compressor. Finally, dont be in shock to see the rates, as these are purely based on the after sales service of the car. I hope this is enough for your question.

I sold my 2003 Octavia Elegance for 3.5 Lac. Mine had done 70K kms. Buyers for the car are too few. U could look at the same price if the Ambient has low mileage. My car was scratchless, has alloy wheels and auto climate control. Original Stanley Leather Covers (worth 35000/-)
Resale value of the Octavia is really low.
Also maintenance is sky high, so unless you really don't have much qualms in spending good money over service and spares, you should stay away from it.

As someone in this thread said, it goes on the condition, is quite true. However I will not go by the Service records... I'm quite aware of the loopholes in those. I own an octavia 2002 ambiente 1.9tdi and I have driven about 87k so far. I have a good resale value for my car. I got an offer of 4L in Sept 2009. The resale also depends on cities too (correct me, if I'm wrong). If you can be more specific about the car you have seen, then probably experts in this site can suggest. However in Hyderabad market, you should be able to get a scratchless octavia 2003 ambiente between 4L - 4.5L.
