Hi,
It would be better idea in going for CNG kit after two years of usage.

Answer by Shiva Shankar 11 November 2009

No. you should not. It's waste of money for low usage rate. Next thing is Aftermarket CNG kit is not as proven as the petrol. you may experience some small problems like difficult start, rough idle, etc.

If LPG is an option you could consider, you could weigh your options. The cost of conversion when you take into consideration your usage, might not be great value. Aftermarket kits are made my a few different makers and a good mechanic's outfit will do a good job of installing it. I'm not sure why you would have to wait any period before converting to any kind of gas. If you can buy a brand new dual fuel vehicle, there should be no problems with converting a brand new car.

U can go in for a cng kit by all means in ur car provided u get the kit fitted at a tata authorised dealer otherwise u will lose ur warranty.Another option would be to wait till ur warranty expires and then go in for the kit.

sir,
i would suggest to u to not to convert the vehicle to LPG OR CNG
BECAUSE as u mentioned ur car's monthly running is about 200kms is very less
istimate :--
concidering ur running ,
sir u will spend about 18000/- for reg. ur vehicle to LPG/CNG
ur car will b giving u the milage of about 18kmpl(petrol) as per customer feed back.
now the rate of petrol in market is 50rs./lit.
18000/50=360lit.
near of u invest the amt of 360 lit. in only kit n reg.
+ u ll use the LPG/CNG of 29rs/lit.
and u will get milage of 12kmpl from customer feed back
hence ull invest unnecessary amt. in kit as ur running is @ 200kms /month
i.e. if u use ur 18000/- for petrol, u may use ur vehicle on petrol for about 32.4 month aprox.
how?(360lit*18kmpl = 6480kms)=(6480kms/200per month usage)=32.4months
NOTE:-- IF UR USAGE WILL BE GOING ABOVE 800KMS / MONTH I LL SUGGEST U TO CONVERT UR CAR AFTER 1 YEAR
CAUSCUION:-- IF U CONVERT UR CAR TO LPG/CNG WARRANTY EXPIRES
