Dear Anil,
Normally the new bike starts giving sustained mileage after 2nd service but in few cases it takes 3rd service to get optimum mileage, so wait till 3rd service. One advice i would like to give you is try to fill the petrol from the reliable petrol tank, at times the mileage of the bike remains okay but adulterated petrol and less promised volume of petrol from filling station gives you false impression/ data.

IN A NEW BIKE U CANT DRIVE FREE AS UR OLD BIKE ..
FOR IT U MUST RIDE AT LEAST 4000 KM,WITHIN SPEED LIMIT50KM.
LESS USE OF CLUCH , BRAKE,,GEAR CHANGE UNNESSARY...
PETROLL OFF WHILE STOP THE ENGINE ..
RARE USE SIDE STAND TO AVOID OVERFLOW..
STOP ENGINE WHILE U HAVE TO STOP 1 MINUTE.. DONT USE SHELL /RELINCE PETROL . BY USING SHELL PETROL MILLAGE WILL COME SOME EXTRA BUT U MUST TO DO ENGINE WORK WITHIN 6 MONTHS....
AVOID RASH DRIVING /ALCOHAL WHILE DRIVING .. ..

With Shine you can get mileage upto 55KMPL max.The loss of fuel can be avoided by switching off engine while in idling for long time,following safe driving habits, driving in constant speed as much as possible.Maintaiing the vehicle as per schedule given in Owner's manual.
Hello, maintain constant speed (45-60),after reaching an average speed firmly give accelerator (ie:-you should not feel engine is running)and slowly take the speed.If u pour Shell petrol you may get 65-70.And last 55 mileage is not a max,you will get an average of 60 km/ltr.
I am wondering that Gautam's opinion about Shell/Reliance.Gautam can you prove it? Only the problem that it is costlier than IO,BP,IBP...HP and you have to follow their instruction such as you have switch of the vehicle/get down from the bike/switch of the cell phone (these are the rules but we Indians never ready to follow)I hadhave good experiance with these brands .More power +more fuel efficient+ less maintenance. HONDA will agree Gautam's opinion?
Even i had the same problem.The service is not that much good in all the honda showrooms.Better u change the vehicle because the maintenance cost is more when compared to other bikes.The rear brakes are horrible.After reaching 45Kmph its starts vibrating which makes the rider uneasy.For this reason only i sold my Shine.for me fuel consumption was around 40-45Km which was not believed by me at first and then i tested once and only i came to knew the problem.The seat is very hard which makes to not suitable for long driving.The rear wheelbase is not sufficient to overcome skidding.Pls better u change the vehicle
