Cars Q&A
Hi Motilal, Go for the i20 Asta without doubt! Its a new generation vehicle only into its 1st year in the market. All the others have have been in the market for a while and have started getting stale. Manza is new of course, but the looks fail. It looks disproportionate. Would have looked better with a lesser rear overhang. i20 beats all others in terms of styling. Critics say its underpowered, but remember it produces close to 78 BHP. The old Honda city produced just 77 BHP with a bigger kerb weight. 78BHP is quite sufficient unless you are a speed creek and loves to drive your vehicle on public road as if you are on a race track !
Hello Mr. Goplani,
I totally understand your concern, I am in a similar situation.Only difference is my budget is around 5.5. I have done a lot of research work and found that the car which would fit my interests and needs(and budget) is Accent executive.Though I have read that it would be phased out. I do not care. I think these are all rumours or may be it will take much more time than we can imagine. So, if phase-out is a concern, i do not think you should compromise and settle for something else.
It again boils down to what you're needs are:
Comfort+VFM+After sales service (or) Resale (or) latest tech.
I have researched that these stories of phase-out were there since 2006, now its 2009...nothing has happened.
In my case, I wanted a mid-sized sedan fully loaded, easy on maintenance(Chevy ruled out), affordable(considering a 5.5L budget and I get a fully loaded sedan.)ford is expensive(maintenance wise, spare parts), tata is notorious in our city and I dont want to deal with them.I never wanted a maruti(as I have been owning it for last 15 yrs, so wanted a change.
In my opinion, Accent has been a milestone of a car. It should be phased out sooner anytime. hyundai cars are good and durable. so for the time being buy a second hand accent, invest half the money, later sell the second hand and buy the new accent from hyundai(newer version) so u save on ur money, satisfy ur crave for accent and later get a newer version of accent also with a very less depreciation on your second hand. hope it helps
Hi,
Hyundai i200 will be best for its contmprory design, style, features etc. Also the resale value of Aaccent will be much lesser than what it is now in long term as it will be discontinued gradually.
No doubt..!!! FORD IKON is the Best in this range...
Y not think of MANZA if u r so vary of a sedan with good comfort levels...
u shndt go for i 20 or accent pl take a test drive of tata manza its a superb car.
When I was buying the Accent 3.5 years back, Verna was about to be introduced & there was this major discussion that Accent should be phased out then & I should buy a Verna - Well, it still seems to be selling & not getting phased out - But yes from the resale value point of view, there is a better chance from i20 & you would sell this probably atleast 4 year which makes it ~2014
One question I ask is, Are you buying the car for your satisfaction and pleasure or selling it.
If you are looking at your pleasure, and looking for a car which gives great comforts, nothing to match a Sedan.
However, if you are a budget user, who looks at low cost of maintenance, I would definately recommend a Maruti anyday against a Hyundai. I have expeience using 3 hyundai, 3 Maruti and 1 GM Car, and found Hyundai most expensive for after sales.
I have used Accent for four years. The car never lets you down. It is very good car. It has reputation of saving the inmates in cases of accidents. It is very stable on road. And, economy - ecology - wise, the "Accent Eco" ( one with factory fitted Lpg Kit ) would be the best buy. The Accent Eco / Lpg would also fetch handsome price in resale.
So, go for an Accent Eco.
go for the limited edition fiesta petrol as it have lots of features n there is a good offer in it .....it also fits your pocket.its a sedan,it is comfortable and lots more in it.
Mr. Motilal
Considering ur budget and requirement, I think Suzuki Swift Dzire should be one of the options that u need to consider. I am personally not against Korean car, however, Dzire carries a price tag which includes all features (air bags, Controls on steering) and of course excellent customer service and network. Hyundai Accent in general is a good car. However, this model of Accent has been phased out globally. In fact in Europe and US, Hyundai Verna is sold as Accent. So you can imagine, how Hyundai is milking the Indian consumers. i20 is a cool car with good driving and handling. But the pricing is higher as Hyundai has invested few million $'s on the design which it needs to recover. One other option that you can consider is TATA Indigo Manza. As always, TATA cars carry the best VFM. Also, the design (as claimed by TATA) of Manza is done with collaboration with Daimler (Merc). Hope this helps
hi mr motilal,
i was in similar confusion at begining of this year, and i liked i20 , and i made enquiries for the same, there the guy happened to be my friend and requested me to take test drive of Accent as well, and i went on a long drive with him, and boy, i forgot all about i20, and booked Accent, and now i am driving it since feb 2009. though i20 is good, Accent gives u more pleasure driving, more over its loaded at the price compared to dzire, ikon, aveo, and i nvr cared to think of tata cars. it also has more power and finesse, than, ikon and aveo. super silent cabin, and nice aircon, and vry good acceleration, superb suspension. i am really surprised, why no body is interseted in such a VFM car anymore. as the question of phasing out goes, if u are going to keep the car for say for more than 5yrs, then u shudnt be bothered about phasing out of Accent, and any way all the models, get phased out sooner or later, for example, tata has phased out indigo, honda has brought out new city and civic, within 5yrs, maruti has phased out sx4 for a newer version. the hyundai guy told me that corporate sales of Accent are still good, and there are no plans to phase it out. moreover they are bringing newer versions of the car like cng , lpg, and eco.
finally take a test drive and decide , sedan is sedan and hatch back remains a hatchback, afterall.
Hi,
I have been using Accent for 5 years and i am a very satisfied user. The car is excellent in all the manner and i bet you cannot get a better sedan in a budget of 6 lacs.
Earlier, it was rumoured that co. is phasing out the accent but because of recent news that co. is again coming out of crdi version of accent which indicates that it will not be phased out.
The resale value of the car is less as compared to earlier but it has improved in last few months.
I don't hv much idea about i20 but heard that its a good car too but i think it is very highly priced.
i am a proud owner of accent crdi 1.5 u will be amazed by the average and pickup of the car with just 3 cylinders
take this car enjoy for life but these cars are now made to order ,i reached manglore with 1800/- worth diesel from mumbai manglore is almost 1000 km
i got an accent eco in 2009 and it took like 6 months to set on lpg mileage ..pick up is good as well.. i have done like two long trips with 1200 kms up and down ..good stability...value for money ..
I HAD A SIMILAR KIND OF DIILEMA
AND TOOK SEVERAL POINT UNDER CONSIDERATION FOR CLEARING IT.
ACCENT,UNDOUBTLY BEING VERY GOOD IS A GOOD CHOICE BUT BUT BUT
THE COMPANY HAS LOWERED ITS VALUE AND WITH THIS ITS EXPECTED THAT IT WON'T BE AVAILABLE OR NEW TRANSFORM VERION WITH NEW MODELS WOULD BE LAUNCHED.
MOREOVER ACCENT IS A SEDAN AND NEEDS EXTRA CARE IN CITIES.
THOUGH A GOOD PACKAGE OFFERED OF JUST 5LAKH RUPEES BUT CONSEQUENCES ARE DISAPPOINTING.
THEREFORE I ALSO CHOOSE HYUNDAI I20
IT IS BIG AND A SMALL CAR. THE CAR IS BIG AND REALLY GOOD IN SPACE AND COMFORT. SEATING IS COMFORTABLE
AND REALLY ONE FEELS LUXURY IN
THE ASTA MODEL
LOADED WITH EVERY FEATURE, THIS CAR IS AWESOME AND FEELS TO BE IN A HONDA CIVIC.
I THINK HYUNDAI'S I20 IS GREAT AND BEST BUY
Today, I am also in same confusion i20 , Or Accent. When I entered the showroom for i20 & saw Accent , Sat on driving seat ...I thought this what I was looking for. But for the same reason that Accent is outdated car & will be phase out.. I am in confusion.
After reading your earlier comments ...Now ...I will go for ACCENT Executive
im have accent car good condition call me at +91-76967-30424
i will say go for i20, because its full loaded with features nd in accent u will get many of such....new added features like sunroof, bluetooth conectivity nd many other.....and the boot space for which u r looking for accent.. there is plenty of space in i20.
