dzire is the best option..... dont go for fiat or tata

Answer by Dheeraj 10 October 2009

I think you have lot of options

Maruti Swift, Ritz if you are going for a hatchback
Maruti Swift Dezire if you are going for a Sedan

Benefit: Great service network, Good resale value, Low maintenence (comparitive), Decent ride quality
Against: Poor quality of interiors in the Swift and the look factor for the Swift dezire. Swift Dezire has instability in higher speeds (140 Kmph)

Fiat Punto would also be a great choice; the only problem would be service networks of TATA (Ideally should not matter)

Tata Indica and Tata Indigo are also options: Problem in the taxi image these cars have and the ride quality which is not that good

Mahindra Logan would also be an option but please look at the lessor service network and low resale value. But the FE this car gives you is awesome.

Ford ikon 1.3 is another option. Maintenence of this car would be a bit costly after the service warrenty that the dealers offer.

Hope I have answered your query. Please let me know in case of any additional requirement

If u are buying a diesel car i assume u will travel big distances and consequently u will want ur car to be solid enough to take the pounding indian roads give to cars so if this is the scenario nothing comes close to a Fiat and in this case the grande punto, take my word and buy the punto u won't regret it..
