Hi mate, I had a same problem with my car before and this problem can do some serious damage. There could be number of factors for your car to over heat.
1)Leaking or damaged radiator valve.
2)Air con unit not functioning properly
3)Damaged Head Gasket or blown
4)Radiator leaking.
5)Blocked pipe lines
This overheating problem can really do some damage to the engine.
The best option is to take it to a authorized Maruti workshop and ask them to do a pressure test on the radiator and then they should be able to diagnose the problem. Kindly do this at the earliest possible.
Thanking you

The empty auxillary tank Indicates coolent leakage, plese get the vehicle reinspected Call the brakedown service instead of driving in long distance from authorised service center.

I had the same problem with my car last week.I think changing the radiator along with the tuning of MPFI engine, checking all the hoses & connections & ofcourse check the level of Coolant in the tank at the same time.Use only genuine coolant from the authorised shop.

hey can any one tell me what is the specification of the radiator of maruti 800 , because iam not gettting it the web ... i need it badly for my project

Answer by Ashfaq 07 July 2011

After routine servicing at 60000km at MSM, Delhi, the coolent started spilling out from storage tank. also sometimes car gets heated upto indicator showing upto mid point and at that time a/c stops working and on checking coolent qty reduces to almost zero in storage tank. shown 3-4 times in MSM, but of no use. What to do?

I m a mechanic, the best solution for this is---change the head gaskit and check is there any lickage of coolent

My car had the same problem of bowling and emptying of coolant/water.
I contacted 3 experts and got 3 different expensive solutions (ranging from Rs 800 to Rs 5000) and became confused.
Then I applied little basic physics. It is as follows:
If the pressure is less , boiling will occur at lower temperature.
Any leaking can cause fall in pressure and cause boiling and emptying of coolant.
I simply removed and cleaned the radiator cap (or lid) well and put it back.
And now the problem is gone.
I think that the checking of the radiator cap must be done first.

helo shiva sir,
i am purchase 800 5 speed car before one week. on the running way water and coolent oil shouls leaked... then at 3 times the engine will stoped after 5 min engine will on and run.... my nearest technicial says that...this problem leads to engin problem.... i m confusing about that purchase....what is ur opinion...pls......

Answer by Sijo Skaria 06 June 2013

the problem will be faulty thermostat switch,it may function at some time and may not work properly at other times
give through connection to radiator fan(a/c car-disconnect compressor connection and switch on a/c with fan on)radiator fan will work throughout and the overheating problem will be solved.however this is a temporary method go for definite method like changing thermostat switch(MGP ONLY)
