Cars Q&A

Question
My Indica Vista Quatrajet Aura gives only 14.5 km/l of diesel in city drive with A/C, though they say with the same engine Swift gives 18 km/l. Is it true and why?

Answers:

Dear Natarajan,

Fuel efficiency depends on a large number of factors including your driving style, traffic conditions, road conditions, tyre pressure and condition, etc.

The average that you are getting from your Indica Vista is fair and in line with expectations. Swift Diesel weighs about 75 kg less than Indica Vista, and this probably contributes to its slightly higher mileage (18 kmpl is still very optimistic, though).

I think there are 2 factors effecting the fuel efficiency of Indica 1. the weight 2. the suspention.

I have both Indica and swift petrol. swift is very reponcive(not because it is petrol but the Friction is lesser) this is what i feel.

My swift diesel gives around 15 in the city with the ac on . And around 18 on the highway .
your vista is giving a good mileage . There is no need to worry about the mileage .

Hi,
Mileage of 14.5 KMPL in city is quite good and it will certainly gives better mileage in Highway. Difference of one or two KMPL does not matter much if satisfied with overall performance.
