Please do spend the extra amount and go for wagonr. I have both the vehicles- wagon r since 2004 and Alto lxi which i bought in June 2009. I found Alto a very underpowered car specially with AC on, also the seats are very uncomfortable and low. I am planning to sell my Alto Lxi as soon as I get a good price. If budget is a constraint, consider Spark. Of course Alto is more economy, but since you wont be driving too much, go for a 1000 cc car. There is actually no comparison- By and large, Alto can be appreciated only be persons who have not used a bigger car- if you have a choice, do not go for Alto.

My best suggestion to go for minimum 1000cc vehicles these days, as they are worth enough to buy and handle in today's traffic environment.
If ALTO or WAGONR, i will suggest not to go any one of these. Just try test ride of NEW ZEN ESTILO which has new K Series engine in it, which wagonr is not have. Since you are going for tall boy design car, I would suggest Santro than anything else, as it has 1000cc+double fold seats for more luggage+decent outlook and good resale value. Don't bother about mileage as you are riding 800 per month. Losing one or 2 km per litre is worth with added features you have with Zen Estilo or Santro. But don;t go for any LPG version of any brand, as it is sheer waste of investment.

I think Alto makes a sense as the car is fuel efficient and easy to maintain.Though Wagon R is not a bad choice this model is more atractive in its looks than that of Alto and is much comfortable in comparison with the former,however it all depends upon your budget man,if you have more money you would like to have more comfort and for that the Wagon is the best choice among the two.Wish you a safe ride of you Wagon R/Alto

The selection of alto is the best choice.When in the Ac the alto power is less but the fuel is economy than waogan r

you have ask wagonR and alto am suggesting Alto is better than wagonR is also good car but alto give you good mileage low maintenance and very comfortable to drive or depend on your budget you can choose new Zen Estilo with KB series engine also is good mileage car you can choose any maruti maks all small is very nice with latast KB series engin but my best choice is alto .wish you all the best for your dreem car.

My best advice is go for Alto LXI best for fuel effeciency,economy and ac Its also have good resale value.Dont go for wagon r it have less wheel base when compared to height .In turnings in high speed wagon r is not a safety vehicle
so dont think buy Alto LXI

I think it's worth spending some more money as Wagon R gives you more space and power. I will however add another perspective. Go for Zen Estilo, it has same space as Wagon R but better handling, gear shifting and power window at the same price.
I am using alto and find it's power a bit less at times and if you are going out for a holiday around the city it might be difficult to pack the baggage in the limited boot space.

If its your first car then the comparison between power among the two cars is not worth for you. But if you drive both cars I am sure You will prefer Wagon-R. It has decent power better ground clearance (it helps on rough roads) and more commnading view of the road which enhances drivability. First of all you test drive both and check it yourself. My advice is WagonR.
