I own a Baleno LXI, 2007 model. It is the only car from Maruti pack which is directly imported from Japan hence performance no other Maruti car can beat it. with 1800 CC and 105 BhP it is a super efficient car in its league and even more powerful than most of its contemporaries. The A/C is very powerful and among the best in this segment. There are some drawbacks though, which are very less mileage (10-12 km/L), low ground clearance and rarely non-availibility of it's spare parts. But still most of its parts are readily available. Mileage issue can be addressed by a CNG kit (which I am presently using), lower ground clearance increases the jerk-free ride but makes it prone to collide with some higher speed-breakers. Maintenance cost is very low as in case of all Maruti cars.

there r only 1.6l balenos available in india....
and my car gives me 15 on highway and 13 in the cities petrol...

no problems with spares and service....
prob is its prety low...touches the humps...
although it can b managed with driving skills...

Its a good car of yesteryears. now there are better cars available as the interiors and trimming are age old. i currently have a 2005 model and planning to sell it. Its low ground clearnce is the only issue i find but that tremendously improves riding comfort. give aroun 11.5 kms in mumbai city. if interested pl contact me on 9620203705.

I fully agree with Adithya.I owm a 2005 May model and the car has done around 33000kms till date. I got a CNG kit installed by Maruti itself at 28000kms. Believe me I am extremly satisfied with my car. Itis just superb. People who sit in my car have all praises for it. Infact I would say that it is quite unfortunate that production of this car has been stopped. By the way, I am going in for Xylo now. So if intrested in purchasing my car , pl let me know. It is a good car with a great pick up and low on maintenance. Averages around 10 to 12 KMPL
The only set back is that Maruti has discontinued production of this car

Look, maruti has stopped production of the Baleno, but then so has the production of hyundai accent been stopped.However the issue is the spares parts of baleno is very diffciult to come by and are very expensive, say a handle of a hyundai accent cost 150, maruti baleno's handles cost 800, some parts cost upto 18000.However there is no doubt that it is a very comf car, the ride is smooth, with a cng fitted you can get a great average, but maintenace vis a vis spare parts is expensive but then again the spare parts original are of good quality and long lasting. Yet my suggestion to you would be to go for hyundai accent gle as it' smaintenace is much much cheaper, i feel it's looks are far better, ride of both cars are equally smooth.

I have already sold my car. But let me tell you that its an excellent car. Low on maintenance, quite fuel efficient (my car gave me an avg of 10 in city) and no drawbacks.
