Hi,
There is no restriction of minimum KM to be run for a Diesel car.Just starting and running for few minutes is good engough along with other precaustionss like parking the vehicle properly with out exposure to rust formation etc.

It all depends on so many factors.
THe Battery will not hold charge indefinetly and hence if you have a trikle charger in the house,you can connect it so that it actively gives a minimum current to keep up the status.This also is not required very much but it can be charged ON and OFF depending upon the state of Charge which you can visualise if you have a VOLT meter which you may have to purchase and check or Specific Gravity tester which shows the charge of each cell of the battery.
If you are going out on a long period,then,you can disconnect the Battery wire,and take precautions of keeping the tyre aloof from the ground by keeping it on a Block of Wood on both front and rear.
Normally every day you need not start a Diesel engine for this.Once a week start and run the vehicle for few kms so that the Battery gets charged and again start and run the vehicle next week.If you have any more doubts,kindly let me know on pcrao10@gmail.com or 020-2585 1784.
