Maruti Baleno is having good performance with LPG kit.

Baleno is an excellent vehicle by Maruti Suzuki. You wont face any problems if you convert the fuel use to LPG. Plese ensure that you make use of a reputed company kit and a cylinder. DO NOT RUN YOUR VEHICLE ON DOMESTIC COOKING LPG CYLINDER AS THE SAME IS LIKE A TIME BOMB. Only use auto gas and auto gas kit. The mileage of LPG and Petrol remain the same.
If CNG is an option in Chennai, go for it.

Dear Rajesh,

The Maruti Baleno is an excellent car, and with the LPG fitting , should give give superb results. Just ensure that you verify that the LPG equipment fitted in the car that you plan to buy is from Authorised Shops duly acknowledged by the RTO.LPG is a much cleaner fuel and your car should run very smooth. Keep maintaining your engine by servicing it regularly.

LPG would not increase mileage of your car with any marked difference. You will , however save a good amount of money that you would have spent on Motor Spirit/ petrol, now that you are planning to buy the Baleno fitted with an LPG.

Before buying also check for the engine, performance of the vehicle, by taking a longer test drive yourself, accompanied by a reliable mechanic. Check for Engine Missing , Suspensions, Accidental damage to the vehicle if any...

Happy driving.

Dear Rajesh,

In six years , has the car travelled only 36000 kms??? sounds a bit fishy.Check for the doctored meter readings.. check its Tyres, at 36000 the tyre treads should be looking good and not have worn out. Check its Stepney... it should almost be new...

Also check its service record, it might give you clues if the meter reading is accurate or doctored.

Considering the fact that this is already the second owner, advisable to negotiate more... also pl do not make haste in your decision... question yourself... why would a car car get sold twice within 36000 kms??? that too a one fitted with LPG that helps reduce cost so much?... Get this car prechecked thouroughly.. it will only save you a lot of headache later.

Dear Rajesh,

2.3 lakhs is decent, but you can still try for 2.1 L, considering the fact that its a second owner...Check for scratches/ minor dents in the car.... check its battery life.... electricals.. if you find any faults, use that as a ply to negotiate more... only in the case , the owner says no... then take a call to finalise. the idea is to get the best deal out for you:).

Anand
