Cars Q&A
Dear Ram,
The Ikon 1.6 has a powerful engine and a mileage of 10 with A/C is decent enough specially on packed Bangalore roads. Though it could give upto 12kms/ litre.
Changing to LPG/ CNG doesnt increase mileages to any great extent. Its just that the cost of LPG / CNG is much lower than that of Motor Spirit/ Petrol. That makes it affordable and a more cleaner fuel choice.
Go for it if you are driving longer distances everyday.Be careful to fit the system that is authorised by the RTO and not a non authoried one.
Regards,
Anand
hi ram.
i would like to caution you here , like anand said, go for the authorised fitment , but.... the success rate of converting a 1.6 to lpg / cng is very low .however , the results are pretty good for the 1.3 version of ford. any ways check it out your self by speaking to people who have converted a 1.6 , if satisfied , go for it.
Hi,
10 KMPL with Ikon of 2000 is quite reasonable.fittment of LPG for Ikon has not been of much success.Hence not recommended to go for the same.
