Hi Sanjay- I have a swift dzire VXI purchased on 30th April. During first service i got the following done - teflon coating on all paint areas, anti rust (chasis), coating on engine and zinc coating on exhaust. Have it done before the rains as driving on wet / flooded roads can cause early rusting of lower body. I spent a total of about 8000 for all these. For the anti rust, you get recoats for a 3 year period as and when required. For the teflon coating you get 2 more coats during a 1 year period. For the engine and exhaust coating it is a one time coat only.

unless your car is overly exposed to rain/water-logged roads, there's no use for both teflon coating and anti-rust treatment.
15 days back i bought SWIFT glam and got both treatments done to which one MARUTI personnel told me it was all sales gimmick and waste of money as the company already does these things in all of their models.
During monsoon, get your car's underbody washed and aired at regular intervals which will ensure no-rusting. As for outer body cleaning, dust out loose dirts first and then wipe clean with clean, damp cloth.

all maruti delaers are also offering the service of this pv coating at rs 1600-2000 and antirust coat for rust prevention at rs 1750 and it may used as and whn you buy car.

you can negotiate with maruti to do this for your car free of cost. it is possible to save the money and do the work.

our maruti at chougule has done this for my wagon R model two months back

Hi samjay,do the underbody antirust coating it is more important the teflon.do this at the earliest as soon as you get the car as no rust will form.it is done at the dealer.

DO NOT DO THE ANTI RUST COATING : I personally called up the plant manager/staff at Maruti Suzuki Manufacturing facility and enquired with him in very clear terms if it is necessary to perform an Anti Rust Treatment (FUCOT) etc..on my ertiga. I was clearly told that there is absolutely no need for any rust treatment because all cars from maruti are given adequate rust treatment for indian conditions. He even told me that if dealers are recommending it..we should flatly refuse it. he reiterated that all parts are given rust treatment....

As in the morning I have agreed for Anti Rust Coating (Aprox Rs. 1800) to my Swift Dzire Vdi. Car was due for its 2nd Free Service (5000 KMs). I also agreed to go for Wheel Alignment and Balancing (Aprox Rs. 800)... Will get the final bill today evening.
