Getz is in a different category,though it has cars in two different categories of engines (1.1 lt or 1.3 lt); the Getz is a bigger car, with more comfort; the downside would be lower mileage. This applies to Getz-Petrol cars; it has a 1.6lt CRDE engine car, whic is an extremely good car and is currently being offerred at a very attractive price ex-showroom Delhi of 4.99 lacs.

The Wagon car and Santro are comparable cars; they are ageing cars since they have been round ten years now on Indian Roads.There is very little to look at for differences in operation of these cars. Probably, the spares of the Santro are a little more expensive as compared to Wagon car. The Wagon car is marginally more in length as compared. Technically, I would rate the Santro a better car and is trouble free, provided the car is maintained properly at correct intervals as per the Company's recommendations.

I would, therefore, recommend the following:

(a) If the person is prepared to spend a little more initially, he would get a better choice in Getz Diesel.

(b) If he does not want to opt for Getz Diesel, then, my recommendation would be Santro.

Santro by far should be good for all kind of driving, be it city or long drives and to some extend country side. I have being using it from last 5 years and have used in various types of distance and types of road with no problems or complains whatsoever. Max being 1600km round drive from bangalore to Guntur to attend a function, all in the car had a expected trouble free drive.
