Hi,
To keep the battery charge in good condition, It will be good enough the engine and keep in idling for about 15 Minutes atleast two days once. Also give it to service once in six months even if mileage is not covered.

If your car is a petrol Car (not CNG / LPG) start it once a week and drive it at least 3 kms.

if you can idle it twice a week, battery and engine life will be good.

Dear MR. shiva shankar,

we should take our car like we take care of our body, if you sleep for 5-6 days ,what will happen? i advice you start your car every morning for 5 minutes only, this will not only keep your car battery fit , its good for your engin.

Hi there,

I can share my experience. I run the car once a week and I do not have any starting problem. For sure you don't need to start it every day or onc ein two days. Once a week is enough and probably essential as well. Refering to your problem, it could be the battery problem. Sometimes it goes off very early. I purchased my car ib feb 2005 and first battery replacement was done in 2009 feb. My other friends have got theri batteries changed within two years. So get the battery checked.

Hi,

I would suggest you to start the car daily as it not only helps battery to retain its potency but also the engine. If you don't start the vehicle frequently, the engine oil gets accumulated in the oil sump and hence every time you start the engine, the wear and tear is more for want of sufficient lubrication. Enjoy trouble free driving!

Hi !

A tried and tested method for week end users is to disconnect the battery terminals and just leave it alone until the next use.Your battery stays the way it was and your weekend use keeps it fully charged.

as per my own experience,i remains in tour and used to start my car many times even after a fortnight, this is my 4th santro FEB2007 and till date ihve no problem.I suggest you to start alternative day(to try)Most important what I am feeling you hd nt availed 3 initial services and only due to that u r facing this. However first decide to get serviced your car from Hyundai Garage at regular intervals as per service manual. I think problem will be solved, otherwise consult for battery specifically.cHECK EARTHING/LEAKAGE ETC.PL. SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE BACK

Hi Rajarshi,
I would like to share my experience, I have purchased a
Zen by Jan-2004. First year I drive lavishly, then I
controlled the running. But every week we used to start
and keep idling half an hour atleast. Also, every 3 months
we used to check battery water if it is low will fill up
to the level. You are aware that at winter time is more
energy draining compare to summer time (even if you are
not using the car). If you fitted security system the battery drains more. In this way the first Exide battery
last upto end of 2008. Then the first cell of the battery
shows some problem (not giving proper current). When I put on headlight at night the car got shut off. Now I changed
Exide Maxima (Paste Battery) but little costly. It is very good no water filling, no maintenance. Thanks exide...
