Hello: I am planning to buy an Indica or Indigo. What are the main technical things I should check under the bonnet? Is a petrol engine fitted with LPG more economical or a deisel engine for a 90-Km per day drive? Experts, please revert.

I have used santro lpg. Now I am using Honda citi cng & Indica xeta cng. Plz keep in mind that engine of indica is not that refined but it is value for money. You will not get such a spacious vehicle at 3 lakhs. In my view in any vehicle lpg is better than diesel but cng is better than lpg petrol & diesel. My honda runs 1 rs./km with ac on highway & Xeta at 1.35 rs/km with ac on highway. Cng cost 27.50 /kg in surat. In cng pickup is less but they fit advance timer circuit which gives pickup like petrol so go for cng if it is available.

most important technical thing that you should check under the bonnet is the ENGINE,car must have an engine there.
now you get LPG kits that can be fitted with Diesel engines so you gets an option of running car on diesel or swith it to LPG with a sigle push on one switch placed at your dashboard. I myself has fitted a few in my workshop in last three months. its cost approx 4000 more then the kit used for petrol engine.
