ur choice is not better bcause xeta has no balance of centre of gravity which lead to most of accidents

Hi i owned a Tata Indica DLX model (no idea about Xeta), and it gave me AC problems right from 1st week which despite numerous service visits was not repaired satisfactorily. You can consider this as one off case. The car is very comfortable to ride and seats have enough space for 3 adults at back. Gear shift is average / poor. Economical but repair costs are high. and expert mechanics from Noida told me these cars have no life after 2-3 yrs (though i was using it for 7 yrs, again one off case). Therefore overall i would suggest you go for either maruti swift or hyundai i10, etc depending on ur budget and personal requirements. Hope the info will be useful in helping u make a good car choice. BTW i sold my Indica and bought Zen Estillo....wonderful car...

Hi,
The Brand Tata Indica suffers from the problems during first and second year of launch of Indica. The quality has been improved much.Tata Indica Xeta is a good choice to own. OOnly drawback is low mileage compared with other compitators in the segment.

Tata xeta I will consider it as value for money. Who will give you such a spacious vehicle in 3 lkc? Ya engine is not that refined & gives low milage. I have converted it to cng & gives 1.5 rs/km with ac in city. That is why it is accepted as taxi but if you you can spend little more you can go 4 santro or any vehicle from maruti's stable.

Hi, Mahesh
TATA Indica Xeta giving poor mileage, but in diesel versions of Indica DLS & DLX are giving good mileage, I am having 2005 model Indica DLX its giving 17 KMPL and 2005 Indi Cab its giving 21 KMPL very good mileage still now. My advice is if u want to buy TATA car only go for diesel version otherwise for petrol versions go for Swift, Ritz or i10,i20

Answer by Santhosh 06 June 2009

Hi Mahesh,
First decide if u want a petrol / diesel car. If u r looking for a petrol car, then don't think about Tata. In petrol, u have a wide variety - alto,spark,santro,i10,etc.
If u have to go for a Tata vehicle, then opt for a diesel one - the petrol versions of Indica are poor in mileage. I owned a Indica DLS for over 7 yrs - had no problems - good mileage - 18kmpl in city. Now I have a top end Indigo - diesel version & am happy with the performance - TDI engine giving me 18 kmpl.

Hi Mahesh,

I have been a proud owner of a Indica Xeta 1.4 litre petrol vehicle for the last 3 years and I have only nice/ good experiences to talk about it.
- It gives me a mileage of 14KMPL in the city with AC ON.
- Very cheap maintenance cost.
- Genuine 5 seater car and with loads of space for your luggage as well.
- I have driven my car from Pune to BLR and back, taken many road trips and I never had a problem with this car. Unfortunately, none of the other cars in the segment specially the alto's of the world can be taken on road trips of more than 700 KMs on a single day without facing any issues.

So, considering the overall value for money proposition and excellent all weather usage of the Indica Xeta, I would strongly advise you to go ahead and buy the Xeta Sports or the top end Xeta.

tata cars are just piece of crap do not use them u will spend fortune to maintain them.

Answer by SAMIT 06 June 2009

Hi,
Tata Xeta is really a good car. Compare space/ interiors/ power steering/ AC etc. with other models which are also priced at around Rs 3 lakh. Why to spend more when u get everything at Rs 3 lakh?
The sports version of Xeta GLS is really nice looking and really a head turner when you pass through a city road.
I have recently bought ant has driven about 1500 kms and really enjoying.
