You can better go for Indica as 2000 kms per month is bit on higher sider for fuel economy. Indica gives better driving comfort and mileage than Alto. So My option is Indica. No second thought.

Indica is the best option if you have running of 2000 Kms. No tension with Indica. I have used 2000 model indica for 9 years with out much tension. The newer models are much better. say TATA to other manufacturers.

I presume u r referring to the diesel version of Indica. For a monthly run of 2000 kms, u should go for a diesel vehicle & Tata's diesel vehicles provide good value for money. Adhering to the recommended ervice schedules & u will have no problems with an Indica - u can also explore Indica Vista if your budget permits - vista engine is improved from the indica ones

I would prefer Indica as it is really spacious as compared to Alto. AC & Power steering are also much better. You can go for Indica XETA - petrol version also.

My view is that in case of 2000kms a month, diesel is a good option. Of all the cars, Tata Indica, specially the new Vista is a very good choice, i have been using the V2 version over the last 9 years and feel that with a bit of regular car, it is a very good option. I would definitely recommend you for it.

poor finish, crude.

I have been using Indica for a long time and am not a happy owner.It has 50% pluses and 50% minuses.Not too sure about Alto except that its a very fuel efficent car - Maintenance cost is also expected to be lower than Indica.

Lets do the maths for 2000 KM per month running for a car.
If petrol and alto, then running cost would be 4500 [Alto gives 20KMPL, 2000/20*45]. Alto doesnt have a diesel option.
If diesel and Indica, then running cost would be 3800 [2000/18*36].
So, clearly you will end up saving minimum 700 rupees per month if opting for diesel.
Both Indica and Alto are very reliable cars, but where the Indica scores over the Alto is the space. Its a genuine 5 seater car.
So, I would recommend that you go ahead and Njoy your Indica Experience.

Abhishek if you prefer a diesel car then I'd suggest you rather go Indica Vista Quadrajet Orelse go for Alto if you prefer petrol.

go for maruthi alto(voilet variant). It has good look, performance, reliability

I used Tata Indica for last 5 years and let me tell you frankly, it is not reliable as Maruti Alto do. I have spent good amount on maintaining it and I had many a times got stranded on highways / expressways with car going down for some or the other reasons.

Dont look at the running cost, after all what counts is trouble free driving and peace of mind, Go for Alto.

Indica Vista or Swift diesel will be the best choice for you considering the 2000 Km / month you are doing.Riding comfort any day is much better in these two cars than Alto. Especially if you have Highway long distance driving don,t go for Alto. I have used an Indica V2 2004 for 4 years doing 1 Lakh Km. Ihave found it value for money. With AC on you will feel much short of power in V2. But Vista has an excellent engine with enough power. My only advise is take the extended warrant from TATA as you can have minor problems in between that can be taken care of with this warranty. Alto is a cramped car ride quality is nothing great, maybe marginally better than M800. Power is also not adequate. I was disappointed with alto. o go for either Swift diesel or Indica Vista.

In my opinion you should go for now indica vista quatrajet engine i already test drive the car, car is very good in every way, good pickup a.c driving pleasure and overall a good performance.thanks, and i should tell you one more thing i am fully satisfied with indica dls 11/2004 modal there is not a singal complaint it is all depend on your maintenance dear, so you buy any of the car get a good maintenance and you will get a great performance from the vehicle this is my personal opinion.
