plz dont buy a wagon r . although the company is giving discounts they r going to stop the production and discontinue it for better sales of ritz. so do not buy a wagon r u will kill your self when u will hear the resale price

Answer by SAMIT WADHAWAN 06 June 2009

Maruti is a flagship auto company in India that enjoys almost 40% market share in India. The above advice that Wagon R model would be withdrawn and resale price would go down is bullshit.
If you are planning to buy a car in a price range of 3.8 lakhs to 4.3 lakhs, You can surely go for new Ritz as it is Euro 4 compliant and has K series engine, which would give better performance and mileage. However if petrol prices is a area of concern and you want a good car with commendable after sales services with LPG kit fitted to bring down the running cost to one rupee per km you should consider Wagon R Duo. Its a good choice as per performance, availability of spare parts, pickup , and value for money. Though AC is not that effective to keep back seaters chilled. Then also I would advise you to think about your priorities such as cost of per km or latest car in the kitty. Ritz and Wagon R both are great cars and you decide as per your requirement.

Personally I would not go for Wagon R as the width is less and three people cannot sit comfortable.Further it has some good points on engine, duo for reducing your running cost depending upon the running. As it is a bit heighter it will be better to drive as compared to low seating height. For its cost,I think,it is okay but depends on your requirement. If you are only two then it is good.

WAGON R ism ,comfortable to mdrive for long stretches. I hv done for 12hrs at a strecth. The view is good, seating is high, very spacious. Space in dicky is better than cars of same segment. Yes AC is little low for aft seat. Engine has given no trouble, comfortable at top speeds of 100 to 110 but not more, then control is sluggish. As far Ritz- i hv no idea.

Hi,
With the current availability of cars with better features than Wagon R it will will be worth going for cars like Maruti R Ritz, i10 or Indica Vista. Though overall performance of Wagon R is comparitively good, the drive quality and Seating comfort is not so good.Best selection will be a Ritz.

Hi, its a tough decision it seems to you, and the fact that you are looking for trusted advice. I am a owner of WagonR(oct'08) and Santro(may'2000). Though u have not listed ur choices, from my experience of the two SAntro is the best in all aspects . Be it
- pick up
- stability
- mileage
- Cooling
- No noise engine
- Gear Box
- Braking
- Service
- RE-SALE VALUE
PERFORMANCE IS THE BEST_ ACCPETED BY MARUTI SERVICE GUYS_ DO NOT COMPARE WAGONR WITH SANTRO. COMPARE SWIFT WITH SANTRO???? Are they in the same segment/class

ABOVE ALL SANTRO HAS NEVER SAID NO ANY CONDITIONs

Thus I recommend Santro over WAGONR; if it is the another choice

Cheers

Extend ur budget a bit and Go for Ritz... Its the best car available in the market as of now in this segment!! do not fall for the discounts in the offing.

Answer by Rajat 06 June 2009

Having used Wagon R for a year, there was absolutely no problem in terms of performance. One of the key advantage is that you will have better view upfront while driving and body being sleek, maneouvre is good. In nut shell you can call it Mini SUV.

Answer by Ashok Nayak 06 June 2009

Wagon R is a good vehicle to own. Its comfortable in long trips. Reasonably fuel efficient. But don't buy it now. You have a better choice - The Ritz- which has a diesel option

Answer by Srinivas 06 June 2009

Yes it is worth buying a car and good for long run. I did roughly 400KM in One day, But dont expect greate milage from it in City

Answer by Sunil Kathuria 06 June 2009

Hi, Nodoubt WagonR is a great value for money in comparision of any other car, it is good for long drive as well as city drive but now i cant suggest u to go for wagonR bcoz better option available in the market, now u have many option like Ritz, i10, Swift LXI, Aveo-UVA, Getz.....they all come with almost same price tag b/w 3.5 to 4.5.
Now u have to decide which factor attract u most....If u looking for driving plesure than go for swift or getz and if u are looking for spacious car then go for aveo-uva and if u want fresh model with good interior and engine refinement then go for i10.
My suggestion for u is just go for i10........

Answer by Aditya 06 June 2009

In de wagon R price range hyndai Getz is de best suited for u, it's very
comfy on de long run; n wit longger boot n huge leg room it's a steal at
3.99 lac x showroom.

Hi,
The wagon R is definately a good and reliable car but these days with so many options available you should try out all the models and settle for one that you feel good about. I wud suggest the Ritz, its value for money from what I hear.

Answer by Robin 06 June 2009

Yes, it is worth buying Wagon R. It is vehicle of great practical utility. It is comfortable for long drives also.I find it very convenient- the tall boy design is great for getting in and out. Once you are used to this car, I assure you that you will find it more convenient than the best luxury cars, specially when you have to get down from the rear seat. The boot space is great (for a car in this budget). I definitely recommend it. Not a great showoff but very practical.

Answer by Vipul 06 June 2009

I am an owner of Wagon R LX for the last 6.5 years. Positives - Easy ingress and egress (getting in and out), upright driving position, roomy interiors, lots of storage spaces, Decent pick up in all gears, efficient AC, good stability till speeds of 110 KMPH, easy to park, good visibility all around. Negatives - rubbery gear shift, engine noise can enter cabin at times, rear seat cannot seat 3 adults very comforably (worry about this if you have 5 adults regularly travelling). Overally i am extremely satisfied with the vehicle. Have done regular long drives(delhi - Shimla, Delhi - jallandhar, Mumbai - Lonavala, Mumbai - Matheran, Delhi - jaipur) and it is a good car on the highway. The looks may not be great, but trust me it is still the most practical car around. For the ritz, you need to stretch your budget and looks are relative - honestly i do not like the looks of the ritz.
