Hi,
For all your requirments it will be worthy of going for a Chevrolet Spark. Its a good performing car with great warranty backup and available at comparitively cheaper price. Alternatively you can go for a Zen Estillo.

hi shiva
thanks for your advise, since i prefer buying a 2nd hand learning thoroughly then moving for a new one. opel astra 2004 model is on offer for 1.4 lakhs do u think its a good deal. and is it worth it do let me know if this is best suiting my purpose.

hello mam,
as per your requirements the i10 would have suited you the best. it is anyday advisable to go in for a car of a company which has a decent market standing.
instead of an opel astra which would require a hefty sum on maintenance it is more viable to settle for a santro.
number one you are a new driver so a small car with a good service backup and cheaper spare parts would be ideal.
secondly a hatch with a power steering is a great fun to srive combination.
and it also solves ur purpose of long drives.its a decent performer on the highway.
so i`d any day suggest a pre-owned santro to any other car at that price. prefer a zip plusLP or higher variants or Santro Xing..make sure u get one with a power steeering only :)
all the best!

I think u should go for A-Star coz it is the best in mileage omongst other cars of this segment.

Or u can go for Zen estilo or wagonr also.

Hi..
My advise is to go for Maruti-800,Alto,Santro,Palio of above 2005 model which has run not over 40k Kms (Buy only virifiable in dealership service record vehicle)
Reg Astra, the price is arround Rs.50 to 90 thousand only. So plz beware of exploiters.

If you are using for 50km plus per day, a diesel crdi varient is the best one. Accent crdi or viva. Dont go for old palio D or esteem d, or ford ikon diesel. They are not common rail.
The new diesels are very efficient and have an excellent higway mileage of 22km+ per litre diesel and hardly any power drop when you use AC. A used logan, accent would serve your purpose. new cars are swifts, dezire and palio in your price range.
I suggst long cars for long drive stability. Shor ones are just city kids
