Cars Q&A

Question
I own a 2007 Indigo XL petrol, it has a 1.4 ltr, 101PS 16Vtwincam engine. efficiency is a good 14kmpl with AC in mixed driving. I wish to improve performance by going in for a free flow air filter, iridium plugs and a free flow exhaust. 1. Will this give me significant improvement in performance, if not please suggest what can be done? 2. Will this impact fuel efficiency? 3. What will be the estimated cost of this upgrade? 4. Could you suggest a good workshop in Pune who can do this for me?

Hi,
Though performance would improve with modifications as mentioned, it wont make much of improvement in mileage as mileage basically depends engine capacity and the overall load on the car. Usage of extra power petrol with additives would help to improve mileage .It will also be cost effective too compared to other methods.

hi deepak.
yes you can go ahead with the air intake & exhaust system. they will make a difference in the performance of the car.also you can find an increase in the fuel efficiency of your car. if you really want to burn the rubber , switch on to the souped up version of ECU. i am sure if you may find one in pune , but its available in banglore.
the pete's air intake sys with filter will cost you around 9k & the ehaust sys about 11k (with the throaty muffler).
