Cars Q&A

Question
Hai I AM PLANNING TO BUY THE HYUNDAI ECO CAR THAT HAS BEEN RECENTLY LAUNCHED. THIS NEW MODEL OF HYUNDAI CAR RUNS ON BOTH LPG & PETROL AND ALSO ON CNG & PETROL. THOUGH I AM ELATED TO KNOW THAT HIS CAR COST ME ONLY 1.25 PER LITRE. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND I AM APPREHENSIVE ABOUT THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE IN THE LONG RUN. AS I NEVER WANTED TO DISPOSE THE CAR AFTER FEW YEARS.AT THE SAME TIME IT IS NOT TRIED AND TESTED AS IT HAS BEEN LAUNCHED RECENTLY. kINDLY ADVICE ME IN THIS REGARD. AS I HAVE VERY LITTLE IDEA ABOUT CARS. THANKS & REGARDS GEORGE MATHEW

Hello Mr. George,

If you are willing to use CNG on Hyundai Accent, you should be prepared for extra maintenance cost as CNG detriotes the engine very fast. As i was using CNG hyundai Accent for more than 18 months. FOr first 6 months it was perfectly ok then it starts giving problem. If you would like to use CNG then better try HONDA city or Esteem of Maruti Suzuki. Their engine life on CNG is better then any other car. And for long term its beneficial for you also.

Thanks

George, I own an Accent petrol and the maintenance spend has been quite low spread over a period of 4 years and almost 70K kms. I do frequent Bangalore - Chennai Trips (twice a month) I get about 14kms on the highway with the AC on cruising at an average speed of 120kms/hr, With 4 people, it is cheaper than the shatabdi or a luxury Volvo bus. If you would be doing about 1000 -1500kms a month you can go for the petrol, if it is more .. say 2500Kms + go for the CRDI. CNG I am yet to find a friend who owns one.

Hi,
With Santro ECO you will be getting good fuel efficiency and cost effectivness.Though the performance will not be in par with Petrol version .You can have a comfortable driving with lesser fuel expenditure. The external kit fitted customers are experience increased maintenance cost after long term usage .With regards to maintenance costs for eco it must be lower side. Factory fitted LPG versions performe well due to suitable modifications in engine and service network.
